The R.
Gregory Swedo Memorial Scholarship is a $4,000 scholarship that is
awarded to one Fremd High School senior each year that attends the
University of Illinois (Champaign/Urbana). The scholarship shall
be paid in annual installments of $1,000 per year, provided the
recipient adheres to the continued excellence set forward by the
foundation. A panel of family and friends of Greg Swedo will
choose recipient(s).
Greg was
a 1992 graduate of Fremd High School and was a person who believed in
education, enjoyed many sports, and was always there for his friends.
Greg excelled at basketball and soccer among other sports while at
Fremd and the University of Illinois. Greg was a wonderful and
caring person, with a quick wit, and endless sense of humor. He
treasured his friends and family and lived his life with the belief
that "you can never do enough for those you care about." A
passion to keep his spirit alive and to create a legacy of giving has
caused this scholarship fund to be established. |
